Magic Magic Mop

My sister recently introduced me to something quite spectacular. A Magic-magic mop. Heee heee.

I've got one of those Kao Magic Mops that originally uses disposable bits of paper that helps to pick up the teeniest dust, hair, the works. I know, not very environmentally friendly. I got sucked into the whole, 'it is AMAZING!!! takes the work out of housework!"... Hmm... still have to worklah...

But back to my point. I've stopped using the magic mop for its original purpose. And it was just hanging around until my sister told me of how she's using her magic mop these days.

With pieces of cloth. And use it as a wet mop. For her apartment (and mine after experimenting), we'd have about 6 pieces of cloth ready, soaked in water, wring them lightly, attach it to the mop, and voila.

The floor's amazingly clean!

And when you're done, toss them with the rest of the laundry, and into the washing machine when laundry days come around. And if you're eeeked out by mixing with your clothes, then toss it in with the rest of the floor rugs laundry.

Have fun!

  1. I use one of those microfibre mop things with replaceable and washable pads. Very convenient and effective! I get mine from Cosway, which costs RM10 more than the RM19.99 Giant microfibre mops but last waaay longer! Giant's in-house brand stuff has suffered in terms of quality. The aluminium is so brittle and the plastic parts don't even fit!

yeah, EL, get better quality one. the thing is, i'm just really happy i don't need to keep wringing out the mop ever so often. this i just use and toss (into the laundry)

  4. Best, just get someone else to do it! Hee-hee!

If really need to do it, picture it as a work out, good way to get back the waist line!

Wringling or toss them into washing mac, it is always lovely to have a clean house.

May just try out your method one day. And I mean; one fine day... when uh?

    Happy mopping!

  5. you know i think i'm so going to appreciate this simple and brilliant solution when i move in. never liked wringing mops, either. and uhm, not a big fan of plastic pails :P does this mean i won't need a vacuum cleaner? been feeling a little guilty for looking at iRobot ads :P

  6. ok, i still sweep/vacuums before i mop. according to sis, she mopped without sweeping, can be done, but the dirt harder to remove from cloth. but she cleans the cloths by hand (whoa! and eeek!). wonder if it'll be any better in the machine.

oh, one more thing about the iRobot fascinating. for cleaning, it uses only water and vinegar! :D :D :D vinegar ALL good....

Hahaha, I'm more 'eeeked' by mixing it in the washing machine with the rest of the laundry.
